Good day!

This morning around 7:00 a.m. we left the hospitable Norwegian port of Sirevaag. All hands on deck was called at 6:00 a.m. giving everyone 30 minutes to get dressed. Watch 2 resumed position at the stern of the boat awaiting the arrival of the linesmen. The manoeuvre out of the harbour was very smooth thanks to Jana and the skillful crew.

We have now begun our voyage towards Lerwick, Shetland ! With sunny weather and well rested crew we started our journey with fresh motivation. The mood got even better with delicious chocolate cake… special thanks to the galley crew !

We resumed our regular watch duties, look out, helmsman and maintenance which consisted of cleaning and polishing the brass on deck before our watch came to an end at 8:00 a.m. Using various equipment we measured the air temperature 12°C, water temperature 14°C and humidity 80% using a chart to determine a precise percentage.

This afternoon we finally managed to continue our journey under sails and shut off the engine… night, night, Emma. All of the trainees are excited to be able to use the sails, this is where the real sail training starts!
