We had started the race at too much speed with the sails not even hoisted yet. You could feel, we were up for the challenge on our way from Tallinn to Turku. We successfully avoided the two our penalty for crossing the starting line to early, with just 3 Minutes to spare. We were ready to race!

And our new crew and watch were thrown right into the challenge. Pull this, hold that. We were off with a bang, hopefull to take our kind, unbothered Roald to new speeds. When the wind almost stopped and left us with a clear nights sky and the opportunity to get to know each other and reflect on our days work.

Our watch began with a peaceful night, we sailed, made dough and completed our nightly watch tasks, until 03 o’clock came along. Our diligent lookout saw something in the ocean that we thought was a life raft. We got ready to stop the ship by lowering sails and bracing to rescue them, but right before our tender got in the water, we reached contact with them on the radio, and confirmed that it was not a life raft but simply a ‚homemade‘ ship and everything was ok with them. After all of this the next watch was to begin and we would get a rest until the morning. We cleaned up the ropes, and then just like that the night shift was over.

When the morning came it was beautiful weather, and we had a bit of wind in our sails. Most of our watch was sleeping when it was breakfast, because of the busy night shift, so we did not get the chance so taste the beautiful food but heard that the bread went down a treat! We sailed up to a cruising speed of 5 knots in beautiful weather, and we cleaned the deck. The lunch was chicken and some other good stuff, it tasted beautiful.

We were slowly gaining height and Wind is in the forecast, but even without wind our creative crew… don`t worry, we have ideas as there was only one thing to do when you have beautiful sun but no wind and that was to start a pool party onboard, clean the deck with the backup mobile fire pump, eat a fine dinner and think about windier times.
