Brig ROALD AMUNDSEN. Sailing on a historical tall ship.

… become part of a crew aboard a traditional sailing ship and experience the sea and seamanship in the most authentic way.

The brig ROALD AMUNDSEN is a sail training ship in the tradition of a windjammer. Live in the classical, traditional rhythm of the sea – exchange your daily life on land for an adventure at sea. This opportunity is for everyone who wants to fulfill a lifelong-dream or for those who are spontaneous—no prior experience is needed. All you need is curiosity and a desire to actively sail, along with the willingness to be part of the crew of a tall ship. Wind, waves, the sea, the starry sky, and teamwork on board—changing scenery is guaranteed.

From the galley to the engine room, from the top of the mast to the chart house, or deep inside the ship: with the experienced permanent crew by your side, you will carry out all necessary tasks—whether in the rigging or on deck—together. A vacation on a sailing ship with historical rigging feels a bit different!

Our sailing areas for participation are the North Sea and the Baltic Sea in the summer, and in the winter, the Atlantic around the Canary Islands, Madeira, Azores, and all the way to the Caribbean.

“At home on the seas of the world with the tall ship.”

The sea is not just water, a wave doesn’t compare to the next, wind is not just moving air! Notes from on board, greetings to land: Current report of the day aboard the ROALD AMUNDSEN. The team on board takes turns writing about their impressions, experiences, and adventures: direct quotes from the ship and the crew.
