Since it’s Christmas and this year is coming to an end, I thought I could write about what I’m grateful for. So here we go:
I’m so grateful to be here on board. I’ve learned so, so much, for example how to set sails or overcome my fear of climbing up the mast. It’s so beautiful to see the whole wide ocean around you — just clear, indigo-blue water, the bright sky above you, and the wind playing with your hair while you can feel every single wave. There is nothing better!
Before I went on board, my biggest dream was to see some dolphins, and I’m so happy that we’ve seen them so often. It’s so fascinating to watch them elegantly jump out of the water and play with the waves.
I’m also so grateful for all the people here on board. You get to know so many people on a whole new level; it really is a unique experience. Everybody is so special and beautiful in their own way.
We have been to so many countries already, and I’ve learned how privileged we all are — for being on this voyage, but also for my education and well-being. We never have to worry about our next meal or getting enough water.
All of this wouldn’t have happened without the support of my family and friends. Thank you so, so much ❤️ I love you ❤️

But enough about me. Now I’ll go around and ask some other people here on board:
What are you grateful for? I’m grateful for…
Nienke: …being on this voyage.
Lotta W: …my family and this voyage.
Nik: …Anton being here.
Julius: …being alive.
Lotta U: …being able to be on this ship and all the friends I’ve been able to make.
Leonie: …the community and what the people have taught me.
Mila: …all the people I met here.
Sophia: …the people on board, because everybody is so beautiful and nice.
Maxim: …Nik’s fishing rod.
Maya: …having people to talk to and having swim stops.

Now I’m grateful for having had a wonderful, but unspectacular day on the Caribbean Sea, and I’m excited to sleep outside in my hammock once again. I hope you all have something to be grateful for as well.
Merry Christmas to y’all! 🎄
Mona
