Hey and welcome to our 5th day on board of the Roald. Today is a very exciting day:
it started by us spotting a beautiful chemical reaction of Plankton, it seemed like the water around our ship was glowing in deep blue.

Rough day
Not as beautiful was the sea we woke up to. It was quite rough with 3 to 4 meter waves and wind up to 40knt. As the wind didn’t come directly from the front anymore we could rise five of our sails to support the engine to bring us fast to our next destination.

Dolphin alert
Also a nice highlight of the day was the group of dolphins we saw during our watch. Also incredible is how fast the weather can change here on the sea for example in the morning after the 0-4 watch the sea was completely clear and 6 hours later, we had those high waves.

The rest of the day was pretty it, because some of us were seasick and sitting in the mess became a challenge. So we all just went to bed hoping for the conditions to clear up until our next watch.

While sleeping we dreamed of the warm beaches of Spain and the good weather we hope for in the next days. Will it happen? We hope so…maybe tomorrow.

Karl and Julius
