We left Mariehamn at roughly 09:00, it was a smooth operation and all went well. It was a sunny calm and windless day, causing us to motor north for around 50nm in the hunt for favourable winds. While doing so, we used the time to do Reinschiff and did some Drills. The Bridge decided to practice the Williamsen-Turn 5 times and picked up the Buoy (every time), we also ran a fire drill after lunch to raise awareness to the trainees of the procedures involved and the preventative measures involved onboard.

At long last wind was found, this permitted us to become a sailing vessle. For many of the trainees this was an exciting time as it allowed them to finally experience setting the sails. These sails we set were the Marsen at the Vor and Großtop, the Vorstengestagsegel and the Innenklüver. This allowed us to reach a blistering 1.8 knots. The Roald Amundsen officially declared war on mosquitos, updates to follow.
