Today was the most important day for everyone like me: it was Shrove Monday, the last day of Carnival. Our biggest challenge was making our costumes. We had only limited resources on board, but everyone did their best to create something special.

There were many creative ideas. Anton and Leonie dressed up as our captains. Emilian dressed up as a “kebab vendor,” and Max and Tilly came as their famous “six-seven crabs.”
Our carnival party started late in the evening. Everyone was dressed up, and it was amazing to see all the different costumes. Karl and I dressed up as strippers.
First, we played games like “The Stupidest One Is Out,” organized by Maxim and Mateo, and Stop Dance. We had so much fun playing together in the middle of the ocean. After that, we sang sea shanties with Andi.
Later, the galley team prepared a wonderful dinner. We had freshly baked bread with cheese, pesto, and either meat or tuna. Chips were also served, along with leftovers from lunch. After dinner, more snacks were served and we held a costume competition. Our jury consisted of Nik, Miriam, and Beeke.
The winners were Anton and Leonie, dressed as our former captain. In second place were Sophia as Avatar and Mila as a sewer cleaner.
The day was really fun. After the costume competition, we played Werewolf until late at night.
But now I have to go to sleep, because life on board never stops, and I am on watch duty again at midnight. So I’ll say it the onboard way: “Gude Ruh!”
