For most people, this day started at 7am with a hardstyle-version of “Maria durch den Dornwald ging“ – not for me though, because my sleep is dead-like.
At 8am I finally woke up to the words “it’s Christmas“, so I made myself hop out of bed and help with the Dinghi and the sun tent. To be honest it was very weird for me to look at the thermometer and realize, that it is December and not minus degrees like we usually have at this time of year, but even more weird was the feeling to dive into the deep blue water at Christmas Day.
After our swimming time and lunch we had some free time on deck where some of us decorated the ship and built a Christmas tree on the spill. For me, I explained ”Idiotenspiel“ to some of my friends, because that’s a game we always play at Christmas with my Family – the others said it was very fun which made me happy 🙂
Shortly before dinner, we all took some time to put on our nicest clothes, some of the girls did their makeup and then we all enjoyed a delicious meal (chicken, red cabbage and Knödel). When we were finished with dinner, Jan-Boike read the Christmas story to us to set the mood and then Santa (Marc) came with a big sack – inside were letters and they made us all very happy 🙂
But the letters weren’t the only presents we got today: we also got the list with compliments from the others which we wrote a few weeks ago, and also we all handed our self made Christmas presents to the person whose name we drew also a few weeks ago.
Right now we’re sitting on deck and enjoy the rest of the evening – some of us are playing cards, others are reading letters and some are just chilling. I think today is the day where every person on board thinks of their family much more than on the other days – myself included. At this moment I’m sitting on a bench and look at the stars (which are by the way very beautiful here in Martinique), while thinking of my family at home. This day was very fun and full of surprises – to all of you at home: we all love you and think of you <3
